Canvas: Beowulf Book Cover

Beowulf is an Old English epic poem in the tradition of Germanic heroic legend consisting of 3,182 alliterative lines.  There have been many books written that were inspired by this poem. This piece on 12x12 painstakingly* engraved on 12x12 canvas is inspired by the 1979 book by Charles Kennedy. 

*our canvas engravings are difficult to create and go something like this:

1. paint the canvas with a cool color that you really like or that looks awesome.
2. wait for this paint to dry thoroughly (usually at least 24 hours)
3. paint the canvas again with a top layer of either white or black.
4. be scientifically accurate to get the most even coat as possible
5. wait for this 2nd layer to dry (see step 2)
6. engrave the fraction of a millimeter of the second  layer from the canvas leaving some of the first (color) layer visible
7. repeat steps 1 through 6 until either the canvas is ruined or it looks cool. 

This process gives us 3-5 ruined canvases for each good one.
